About The Position

Join the YMCA of Middle Tennessee as a 2026-2027 SAS Site Assistant, Mornings - Norman Binkley Elementary School and be part of a team that helps children grow socially, physically, spiritually, and mentally in a fun, safe, and engaging environment! This is a part-time position, not a temporary or summer-only role, with morning shifts available before school care. The role involves actively leading and engaging children in activities, preparing and maintaining program spaces, implementing curriculum, building relationships with staff, school personnel, and families, and ensuring site licensing and quality standards are met.

Requirements

Minimum Age: 18
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Enthusiastic, organized, and team-oriented individuals with a passion for youth development.
Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to multitask.
Must be available Monday through Friday
Must be able to commit to ongoing employment during the 2026–2027 school year
Before your first shift: Orientation, DHS Background Check, Fingerprinting, Abuse Registry Check, health forms, training sessions, and references.
Within 30 days of hire: CPR/First Aid/AED (Infant/Pediatric).

Responsibilities

Actively lead and engage a group of 15–20 children in activities, inside and outside.
Set up and transform program spaces into child-friendly environments and ensure cleanliness.
Help plan and implement a quality curriculum aligned with YMCA guidelines.
Build positive relationships with YMCA staff, school personnel, and families.
Ensure site licensing and quality standards are maintained.
