About The Position

The Department of History at Tufts University is seeking to hire a tenured faculty member at the Associate or Full Professor level specializing in Indian History. This position, the Sardar Patel Endowed Professorship in India Studies, welcomes applicants working in any area of early modern and modern Indian history, including the history of the Indian diaspora. The department currently has fifteen full-time faculty members and offers MA programs in History and History & Museum Studies, as well as a Ph.D. program in South Asian Studies. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a 2-2 course load, oversee MA and Ph.D. research, and provide guidance to undergraduate and graduate students.
