About The Position

SAP's Product Security team has built SUIT (Security UI Tooling), an enterprise security operations platform consolidating data from 20+ security tools across Concur, Ariba, and Fieldglass product lines. This engagement completes SUIT v2 dashboard development and positions the platform for enterprise-wide expansion across all SAP lines of business. You will have design ownership and technical decision-making authority for SUIT v2 dashboard components. This is not a staff augmentation role where you execute against detailed specifications - you'll translate business requirements into technical designs, make architecture decisions, and own the implementation end-to-end. SAP's team defers to contractor expertise and expects you to raise their quality bar.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of enterprise software development with proven design ownership experience
  • Strong hands-on expertise in SAP UI5 framework and React
  • Track record of architecting and building complex dashboards and data visualization interfaces
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs without detailed specifications
  • Experience with responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
  • Proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3
  • Comfortable making technical decisions and owning outcomes (including mistakes)
  • Experience with Git/GitHub workflows, pull request reviews, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong design sensibility - can create intuitive UI without dedicated UX support
  • Excellent communication skills for embedded team collaboration

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with security domain applications or compliance dashboards
  • Familiarity with BigQuery data integration and visualization
  • Background working in mature DevOps environments
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Track record in Agile/Scrum teams with autonomous decision-making

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop 3-4 SUIT v2 dashboard components (PSR Compliance, Threat Models, Code Vulnerabilities, Program Risks)
  • Own technical design decisions for UI architecture and implementation patterns
  • Implement SAP UI5 standards and React framework for consistent, modern interface
  • Create responsive designs optimized across devices and browsers (Chrome, Edge)
  • Integrate front-end components with middle-tier APIs and backend services
  • Participate in design reviews and provide UX recommendations (team lacks dedicated UX designer)
  • Work within two-week sprint cycles: planning (4-5 hrs biweekly), daily standup, weekly Thursday demos
  • Conduct code reviews through GitHub pull request approval workflow
  • Maintain documentation in SAP wiki (markdown format, architecture diagrams, code comments)
  • Collaborate with Product Manager on complex UI workflows and acceptance testing
