About The Position

Koniag IT Systems, LLC (KITS), a Koniag Government Services (KGS) company, is hiring a SAP Special Security Officer. Position requires an active Top Secret/SCI Clearance with ability to obtain additional security requirements. Please do not apply if you do not possess the required Top Secret Clearance. You will work to ensure the effective implementation and management of security protocols, particularly concerning classified information and Special Access Programs (SAPs). Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience working in the development of special access programs or a related field (e.g., security management, government contracting, defense, or federal security operations).
  • Previous experience in a security-related role, particularly in managing classified information and SAPs.
  • Knowledge of government security regulations and policies, including NISPOM and other applicable directives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Position requires an active Top-Secret/SCI Clearance with ability to obtain additional security requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in security management, Criminal Justice, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Security certifications (e.g., CSSO, FSO, CPP) are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the SSO in developing, implementing, and enforcing security policies and procedures.
  • Conduct security briefings and training sessions for personnel accessing classified information and SAPs.
  • Manage and maintain the security database, including access control records and document handling.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with government security regulations and organizational policies.
  • Participate in security audits and inspections, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending corrective actions.
  • Assist in incident response and reporting, including investigating security breaches.
  • Provide support and guidance to security staff and other personnel on security-related matters.
  • Stay updated on changes in security regulations and best practices, advising the organization accordingly.
