About The Position

We are seeking an SAP Solutions Engineer to join our team in Global Finance Technology, focusing on the Payment Hub and SAP systems portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess a holistic view of the technology portfolio, strong engineering judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively with Product Owners, Engineering Managers, Architects, Scrum Masters, business stakeholders, vendor partners, and delivery teams. This role is responsible for translating business priorities into scalable, secure, and maintainable technology solutions. The position operates within a hybrid work model, requiring two days onsite, and is open to candidates based in Portsmouth, NH. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience; technical Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years+ years of experience in SAP systems.
• Experience with SAP and financial systems is strongly preferred.
• Proven experience in software engineering, solution engineering, architecture, or technical leadership within complex enterprise technology environments.
• Demonstrated ability to design and guide scalable, secure, maintainable solutions across multiple applications, platforms, integrations, and data domains.
• Strong understanding of architecture principles, integration patterns, data strategy, cloud-native technologies, DevOps, CI/CD, testing automation, observability, and operational readiness.
• Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Business, Security, Compliance, and vendor teams to deliver technology outcomes in an Agile/Product operating model.
• Ability to influence without direct authority, facilitate technical decisions, and align teams around shared standards, patterns, and delivery priorities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate technical trade-offs, identify risks, and recommend pragmatic solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders and senior leaders.
• Experience mentoring engineers, promoting engineering excellence, and helping teams improve design quality, delivery practices, and production support maturity.

Responsibilities

• Acts as the lead solution engineer or technical lead responsible for the implementation of approved technologies that align with technical architecture, customer's business plans and long-term strategy.
• Make recommendations to improve process efficiency and effectiveness.
• Consults on major architectural designs to ensure consistency, security, maintainability and flexibility with respect to overall system, technical and product architectures within a domain or portfolio.
• Participates during incident management events and provides consultative recommendations on viable resolutions.
• Contributes toward forecasts of business and IT trends to define the technical direction within a portfolio, project or Market.
• Guides to the development of system, technical and product standards based on business plan and vision.
• In coordination with Architecture, researches and makes innovative recommendations around new technologies.
• Responsible for prototyping complex, cross platform business solutions to validate newer technologies.
• Participates in the evaluation and selection of hardware and software product standards.
• Plans and manages execution of architecture migrations.
• Maintains collaborative and strategic partnerships between customers, vendors, business partners, and IT.
• Delivers artifacts, technical alternative documents and architectural designs that meet business and product features.
• Oversee design reviews and frameworks.
• Contributes to decisions that impact profitability and operational effectiveness.
• Mentors staff to develop software systems development capabilities.
• Facilitates cross-team/train learnings, communication and alignment.
• Performs related duties as assigned or requested.
