$151,900 - $258,300Remote

About The Position

At SAP, we help the world run better by bringing out the best in our employees. We are builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging but matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. We offer constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed. This role involves owning the end-to-end architecture for AI features in SAP Procurement, from discovery and design to pilot and scale. You will translate business goals into AI solutions on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), utilizing SAP Generative AI Hub, SAP AI Core, SAP AI Business Services, SAP HANA Cloud, SAP Datasphere, SAP Integration Suite, and SAP Build. You will also integrate seamlessly with SAP Procurement products like S/4HANA Sourcing & Procurement, Ariba, and Fieldglass. Leading customer workshops, solution reviews, and establishing AI engineering excellence are key aspects of this position. Building trust by design, aligned with SAP’s Business AI principles, is also crucial. The role also includes cross-team responsibilities such as partnering with Legal, Security, and Privacy to design region-compliant data flows, selecting appropriate SAP BTP subaccount regions and hyperscaler endpoints to meet customer data residency needs, and enforcing cross-border transfer controls. Specific regional compliance requirements for EU/EEA, UK, United States, Canada, APJ, Middle East, Latin America, and China are detailed, along with finance/AP specifics related to procurement. Success will be measured by business outcomes (e.g., cycle-time reductions), product outcomes (e.g., DAU/MAU for copilots), model outcomes (e.g., extraction F1 scores), and delivery outcomes (e.g., pilot-to-production timelines).

  • SAP Procurement integration know-how: S/4HANA APIs, CDS views, BAdIs; Ariba Open APIs and CIG; Fieldglass APIs and data models
  • Proven delivery of extensions in secure, multi-tenant, and regulated environments
  • Enterprise IAM (IAS/IPS), OAuth2/SAML, key management; encryption in transit/at rest
  • Strong command of regional privacy frameworks and data transfer mechanisms (GDPR/SCCs, UK IDTA, CCPA/CPRA, PIPEDA/Law 25, LGPD, PDPA, APPI, DPDP Act, PDPLs)
  • Experience keeping AI/analytics workloads and logs in-region, managing data retention/erasure, and documenting model risk and AI system governance
  • Confident leading executive conversations, design sessions, and customer enablement
  • Track record mentoring engineers and guiding cross-functional teams from use case to value

Nice To Haves

  • SAP certifications in BTP, S/4HANA Sourcing & Procurement, Ariba, or Fieldglass

  • Apply SAP AI Business Services where fit-for-purpose (e.g., Document Information Extraction)
  • Employ SAP HANA Cloud (including vector capabilities) and SAP Datasphere for retrieval and analytics
  • Integrate via SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration, API Management) and Event Mesh
  • Build extensions with CAP/RAP, and design user experiences with SAP Fiori/UI5 or SAP Build; align with Joule for copilot experiences
  • Integrate seamlessly with SAP Procurement products: S/4HANA Sourcing & Procurement, Ariba, Fieldglass
  • Lead customer workshops and solution reviews; shape roadmaps, statements of work, and delivery plans
  • Establish AI engineering excellence: RAG patterns grounded in procurement data, prompt design and evaluation, CI/CD for models and prompts, A/B testing, observability, drift detection
  • Build-in trust by design, aligned with SAP’s Business AI principles (relevant, reliable, responsible): guardrails, human-in-the-loop, auditability, data privacy, and security
  • Partner with Legal, Security, and Privacy to design region-compliant data flows, complete DPIAs, and maintain records of processing
  • Select SAP BTP subaccount regions and hyperscaler endpoints to meet customer data residency needs; ensure logs, vector stores, caches, and backups follow the same residency
  • Enforce cross-border transfer controls (e.g., SCCs/IDTA, transfer risk assessments), data minimization, pseudonymization, and encryption
  • Ensure Business AI guardrails: no training of foundation models on customer data, strict tenant isolation, reproducible decisions, and audit trails
  • Configure retention and right-to-erasure workflows for PII and commercial data (supplier contacts, invoices, contracts, RFx)

  • Comply with PIPEDA and provincial requirements (e.g., Quebec Law 25); accommodate in-country processing preferences and enhanced consent/DSAR workflows
  • Support IRAP-aligned patterns for public sector when needed
  • Comply with Singapore PDPA; Japan APPI; India DPDP Act—enable in-country hosting options and explicit consent/notice and cross-border safeguards
  • Comply with UAE PDPL, KSA PDPL, and other GCC privacy laws; design for in-country processing where mandated and align with sovereign cloud requirements when applicable
  • Comply with Brazil LGPD and local data transfer rules; incorporate e-invoicing retention/archival requirements where applicable to AP automation
  • Address PIPL/CSL/DSL considerations: minimize cross-border transfers, perform transfer assessments, and use in-country cloud services and model endpoints where required
  • Align invoice data handling and archival with local e-invoicing mandates (e.g., Italy, France, Poland, Mexico, India) and internal/external audit requirements
