About The Position

Ford is transforming its Enterprise Technology landscape through the implementation of SAP S/4HANA on SAP RISE. This transformation will reduce technical footprint complexity, standardize global business processes, and enable differentiated capabilities across the enterprise. The SAP Platform Architect, Tooling will play a key role in designing, engineering, and governing the SAP platform ecosystem that supports this transformation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in computer science or engineering or related fields or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of relevant industry experience implementing SAP and other software.
  • In depth technical knowledge of the S/4HANA eco-system, including RISE cloud, BTP cloud, and GRC.
  • Hands on experience in SAP Basis and SAP BTP Administration.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Experience with Hyperscalers with Google Cloud Platform being the most desired.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical knowledge and experience one or more of these technologies: Informatica MDM, HANA Database, Big Query, Linux operating systems, and SAP Joule/AI.
  • Project Management experience

Responsibilities

  • Define, design, and maintain high-availability, global reference architectures for the SAP ecosystem, spanning SAP S/4HANA, Business Technology Platform (BTP), and other data products.
  • Engineer core platform tools, reusable templates, and enablers to accelerate delivery. Establish best practices and modernization patterns to guide application teams transitioning legacy technologies to S/4HANA and BTP.
  • Design and implement secure, robust connectivity and API patterns bridging on-premises SAP environments, SAP cloud services, and GCP-based containerized applications (such as Cloud Run) using modern identity federation and security standards.
  • Establish patterns and reference implementations for enterprise-grade observability, telemetry, and monitoring frameworks for BTP and GCP-hosted applications. Partner with application teams and SAP to proactively diagnose and resolve complex platform performance issues.
  • Lead Proof of Concepts (POCs) and establish architectural standards for AI-driven capabilities, including SAP Joule, SAP Business AI, and third-party AI models hosted on GCP.
  • Plan, govern, and execute regular technology renewal and upgrade cycles across SAP platform components to ensure alignment with vendor lifecycles and modern security standards.
  • Partner closely with SAP Basis, Security, Data Management, System Integrators, product and business teams to translate complex enterprise requirements into platform-level engineering solutions in a fast-paced environment.
