The Senior SAP MM/MRO Integration Consultant is responsible for the materials management aspects of SAP PM implementations. This role involves designing and configuring the MRO materials management solution within an SAP S/4HANA on-premise environment. Key areas include MRO material master strategy, spare parts management, procurement of maintenance materials and services, warehouse integration for MRO inventory, and all MM–PM integration points. The position addresses complex material tracking requirements and ensures accurate cost visibility for MRO spend across asset-intensive environments, including mobile equipment, industrial assets, and manufacturing machinery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years of SAP Materials Management (MM) functional configuration experience in an implementation or consulting role; or no degree with 7-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of specific SAP PM-MM integration experience including MRO materials, maintenance BOMs, work order material components, reservations, and goods movements.
  • Hands-on experience with MRO material master configuration including procurement types, MRP settings, and special procurement scenarios.
  • Experience with SAP external service management in a maintenance context: service specifications, service entry sheets, and acceptance workflows.
  • Solid understanding of goods movement types in a maintenance context (261, 551, 101 movement types) and their configuration.
  • Experience with purchase requisition and purchase order generation from SAP PM work orders and the associated approval workflows.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CAC (Common Access Card); US Citizenship required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in federal, government, or regulated industry environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with government-furnished material (GFM) or government-furnished equipment (GFE) tracking requirements in SAP.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA 2022 or 2023 on-premise MM configuration.
  • SAP Certified Application Associate - SAP S/4HANA Sourcing and Procurement.
  • Experience with SAP EWM or WM for MRO storeroom management including bin management and transfer orders.
  • Experience with plant maintenance service procurement and contractor time-and-material management in SAP.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and documents the MRO material master strategy: material types, procurement types (stock and non-stock), MRP indicators, valuation classes, and special procurement keys for maintenance spare parts.
  • Reviews existing MM configuration and assesses gaps against PM-driven MRO requirements; documents findings and configuration recommendations.
  • Configures or recommends configuration for spare parts materials linked to maintenance BOMs for FOSV vehicles, generators, drones, watercraft, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Designs the material reservation and goods issue process flow for planned maintenance work orders; configures material availability checking rules and tolerances for maintenance materials.
  • Configures non-stock material procurement (purchase requisition and purchase order generation from maintenance work orders) and external service management for maintenance contractors, including service specifications and service entry sheets.
  • Addresses warehouse management considerations for MRO storeroom locations; defines storage location and storage bin strategy for maintenance parts and supports integration with existing WM or EWM configuration.
  • Supports the PM Solution Architect in defining the integration design between PM work orders and MM procurement processes, including automatic purchase requisition triggers and goods receipt workflows.
  • Collaborates with procurement, warehouse, and operations teams to validate the MRO process design against current state practices.
  • Develops functional specifications for MRO-related reporting and any custom enhancements for government material tracking or SOCOM readiness cost reporting.
  • Supports UAT for all MM-PM integration scenarios including goods issues, reservations, purchase requisition generation from work orders, service entry, and goods receipt.
  • Travels 25-50% to client sites to collaborate and consult in person and evaluate operations.
