About The Position

The SAP Material Planner ensures the right materials are available at the right time to support uninterrupted production in a make-to-forecast environment. This role focuses on mid- to long-term material planning, supplier collaboration, inventory optimization, KPI ownership, and cross-functional alignment using SAP and advanced reporting tools. The planner drives data-based decisions, supports commercialization and new product launches, and leads continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of MRP and supply chain experience in a CPG/FMCG environment.
  • Hands-on experience with material requirements planning (MRP) and SAP-based planning processes.
  • Working knowledge of SAP, with ECC experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain and material flow in a production environment.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, particularly advanced Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills for managing forecasts, inventory, and material flow issues.
  • Solid planning and organizational abilities to manage multiple materials, suppliers, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience with ERP systems, including SAP ERP, for planning and inventory management.
  • Ability to interpret and manage KPIs such as fill rate, CTS, inventory targets, and write-offs.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams.

  • Experience with SAP BI for reporting and analytics.
  • Experience with Power BI for building dashboards and handling large data sets.
  • Exposure to or experience with SAP S/4HANA.
  • Experience in a make-to-forecast manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain mid- to long-term material plans for both internal and external production environments.
  • Execute material planning using MRP and SAP to ensure timely and accurate replenishment of raw and packaging materials.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on forecasting and capacity alignment to secure material availability.
  • Design and refine material replenishment strategies that balance service, cost, and inventory targets.
  • Align material plans with demand and production schedules in a make-to-forecast environment.
  • Manage raw and packaging inventory levels, coverage, and accuracy to meet service and financial targets.
  • Own key supply chain KPIs, including CTS, fill rate, inventory targets, and material write-offs.
  • Monitor and manage waste and expiry risk through run-out planning, obsolescence tracking, and coordination of destruction processes.
  • Maintain accurate system data integrity in SAP, including MRP parameters and master data related to materials.
  • Analyze forecasts, inventory, and KPI performance using SAP and reporting tools, and prepare regular reports for stakeholders.
  • Support commercialization and new product introductions by ensuring material readiness and aligning plans with launch timelines.
  • Serve as the first escalation point for material shortages and delays, and lead mitigation actions with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Coordinate purchase order creation, prioritization, call-offs, and expediting activities to prevent production disruptions.
  • Manage supplier relationships through forecast sharing, performance tracking, and regular communication.
  • Coordinate across multiple suppliers and borders to secure supply and mitigate risks.
  • Partner closely with procurement to optimize materials, support sourcing strategies, and align on supply plans.
  • Ensure continuous material supply to production lines to avoid downtime and support production prioritization decisions.
  • Work closely with plant, warehouse, and logistics teams to align material availability with production and distribution needs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for material flow issues, shortages, and waste, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Lead and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in planning processes, data quality, and supply chain performance.
  • Communicate proactively with stakeholders across procurement, plant operations, finance, and other functions, escalating risks when needed.
  • Support production allocation and prioritization decisions based on material availability and business requirements.

  • The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $42.00/hr.
