As a Functional Consultant, you’ll design, configure, and support SAP Financial Accounting (FI) and Group Reporting modules to streamline financial processes, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance. You will leverage your experience with SAP S/4HANA GL, MDG, and FPSL for Sub Ledger to meet business requirements, and play a key role in mapping business processes, identifying gaps, and developing solutions for financial accounting, FX Revaluation, Accrual Engine, and PAPM. Your responsibilities will include providing production support, troubleshooting, documenting functional designs and test cases, supporting data migration activities, and preparing comprehensive documentation to support audit and compliance requirements. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Production support would be required after office hours with a frequency of once a month on standby. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in SAP S/4HANA (GL, MDG, FPSL).
  • Experience in SAP FICO implementation, migration, and maintenance projects.
  • Experience supporting multi-GAAP, multi-currency, and multi-entity accounting environments.
  • Comfortable with IFRS.
  • Experience with production support and troubleshooting.
  • Strong technical knowledge to debug and analyze issues independently.
  • Track record of delivery.
  • Experience analyzing SAP notes.
  • Detail-oriented and compliance-focused.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and support SAP Financial Accounting (FI) and Group Reporting modules.
  • Streamline financial processes, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.
  • Leverage experience with SAP S/4HANA GL, MDG, and FPSL for Sub Ledger to meet business requirements.
  • Map business processes, identify gaps, and develop solutions for financial accounting, FX Revaluation, Accrual Engine, and PAPM.
  • Provide production support and troubleshooting.
  • Document functional designs and test cases.

  • Work closely with internal partners to determine, negotiate and manage SAP FI/CO projects to agreed timelines.
  • Deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions by analyzing and optimizing SAP processes for efficiency, cost reduction, and improved financial controls.
  • Monitor financials, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Lead and coach a high-performing team, sharing expertise in SAP FICO implementation, migration, and maintenance.
  • Direct, motivate, and develop your team, maximizing their contributions and professional growth.
  • Share knowledge, collaborate, and provide guidance on complex troubleshooting and solution design.
  • Build strong relationships with project teams, stakeholders, and business partners to develop and implement SAP solutions.
  • Advise application owners on technology implementation possibilities and requirements, ensuring alignment across multiple workstreams.
  • Lead, facilitate, and coordinate the solution design process, including mapping, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation of financial data during system upgrades or rollouts.
  • Ensure alignment across business and technical teams.
  • Developed and executed unit, integration, and user acceptance test plans.
  • Coordinated with users for testing and validation.
  • Maintained comprehensive documentation for configurations, customizations, and process flows.
  • Ensure all solutions meet audit and compliance requirements.
  • Analyze SAP notes and support data migration activities.
