About The Position

Pacific Coast Companies is looking for a motivated SAP Developer I to join their Applications Development team. This role is ideal for an early-career developer who wants to build a career in enterprise software development while gaining hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, ABAP development, system integrations, and business-critical applications. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
One to three years of professional software development experience preferred.
Strong recent graduates with relevant internships, academic projects, or practical development experience are encouraged to apply.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.
Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language such as Java, C#, C++, Python, or a comparable language.
Strong SQL and relational database fundamentals, including querying, joins, and data modeling.
Understanding of software development principles, including debugging, unit testing, source control, and structured problem solving.
Knowledge of integration concepts, APIs, REST/SOAP web services, and application-to-application data exchange.
Ability to learn new technologies, development frameworks, and business systems in a structured environment.

Nice To Haves

Exposure to SAP technologies such as SAP S/4HANA, ECC, ABAP, SAP BTP, or related enterprise business systems.
Familiarity with integration platforms, middleware, EDI/B2B processes, or electronic document processing.
Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Groovy, Agile methodologies, or Scrum practices.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

Develop, enhance, test, and maintain SAP and enterprise application solutions.
Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering through implementation and ongoing support.
Work closely with senior developers to deliver scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions.
Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance existing systems and processes.
Create and execute unit tests to validate functionality and ensure quality.
Participate in peer code reviews and apply feedback to strengthen code quality and maintainability.
Follow established development standards, security requirements, and software engineering best practices.
Assist in resolving defects and technical issues throughout the development process.
Help build and support integrations between SAP and non-SAP applications.
Work with APIs, OData services, and other integration technologies to facilitate data exchange.
Troubleshoot application, integration, and data-related issues.
Contribute to the stability and effectiveness of enterprise-wide systems and processes.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, functional analysts, and technical teams to understand requirements and business objectives.
Translate business needs into practical technical solutions.
Participate in project planning, solution design discussions, and technical reviews.
Build strong partnerships with users and team members across the organization.
Follow change management, deployment, and source control processes.
Maintain technical documentation, specifications, and support materials.
Assist with production support activities and issue resolution.
Help ensure applications remain secure, stable, and aligned with organizational standards.
Continuously develop knowledge of SAP technologies, development frameworks, and integration platforms.
Participate in training, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing opportunities.
Stay current on software engineering best practices and emerging technologies.
Build the technical foundation needed to become a skilled SAP development professional.
