About The Position

Data-Core Systems, Inc. is seeking a SAP Change Request Management (ChaRM) Developer to be a part of our Consulting team. You will participate and effectively contribute to the design, development, and implementation of complex applications, often using new technologies. You will provide technical expertise and systems design for individual initiatives. You will have the opportunity to work with other SME consultants from our existing team. Our client is a roadway system, and as a part of their digital transformation, they are implementing a solution based on SAP BRIM & Microsoft Dynamics CE.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of SAP technical development or SAP administration experience.
  • 3+ years of direct SAP ChaRM and SAP Solution Manager experience.
  • Proven experience supporting enterprise SAP change and release management processes.
  • Strong understanding of SAP transport and deployment management concepts.
  • Experience with SAP ChaRM workflows.
  • Experience with SAP Solution Manager.
  • Experience with SAP transport management.
  • Experience with release and deployment processes.
  • ABAP development experience.
  • Workflow configuration experience.
  • Experience with BADIs and enhancements.
  • Knowledge of SAP security and authorization concepts.
  • Understanding of change governance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with SAP landscape architecture.
  • Knowledge of ITIL-based change management.
  • Understanding of audit and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and release management methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and technical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong workflow development and process automation capabilities.
  • Ability to translate operational requirements into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • SAP ChaRM Development & Configuration: Design, configure, develop, and support SAP Change Request Management (ChaRM) solutions within SAP Solution Manager, including Change Request Management workflows, approval processes, change cycles, transport management processes, and task and release management workflows.
  • Support enterprise IT governance and release management initiatives.
  • SAP Solution Manager Administration & Enhancement: Including IT Service Management (ITSM), Release Management, Test Management, and Monitoring integrations.
  • Develop custom enhancements and workflow solutions supporting operational requirements.
  • Ensure alignment between ChaRM processes and enterprise change management standards.
  • Workflow & Process Automation: Focus on workflow logic, status management, approval routing, and automated transport handling.
  • Support process automation initiatives for SAP deployment and release activities.
  • Improve operational efficiency and compliance through workflow optimization.
  • Transport & Release Management Support: Support SAP transport management processes across development, QA, staging, and production environments.
  • Configure ChaRM integration with transport management systems and deployment workflows.
  • Assist with release planning, deployment coordination, and transport sequencing.
  • Ensure compliance with change approval and audit requirements.
  • Technical Development & Integration: Utilize SAP workflow technologies, BADIs and user exits, and SAP Solution Manager APIs.
  • Support integration between ChaRM and SAP Solution Manager, ITSM platforms, monitoring tools, and enterprise ticketing systems.
  • Collaborate with BASIS and infrastructure teams on operational integrations.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Conduct unit testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and workflow validation testing.
  • Validate change workflows, transport automation, and approval processes.
  • Support defect analysis, troubleshooting, and issue resolution activities.
  • Security, Governance & Compliance: Implement and support change management controls, audit readiness, segregation of duties, and transport governance.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity and compliance teams to ensure secure operational processes.
  • Support documentation and evidence collection for audits and compliance reviews.
  • Production Support & Operational Activities: Provide ongoing support for SAP ChaRM and release management processes.
  • Troubleshoot workflow issues, transport failures, and system integration problems.
  • Participate in deployment windows, maintenance activities, and production support efforts.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Create technical specifications, workflow documentation, process diagrams, operational procedures, and support runbooks.
  • Provide knowledge transfer and mentoring to internal support and operations teams.
