About The Position

The Software Engineer is a key member of our IT engineering team. Their role is to translate system requirements and use cases into robust, maintainable code for the product or application. It develops and tests code to ensure it works properly and implements it throughout the software development lifecycle using available SAP development frameworks. We are looking to fill a Senior Software Engineer (BW and Group Reporting) vacancy within our organization in Toronto, Ontario starting in January 2026.

Requirements

  • A first-level university degree (bachelor's degree or equivalent) from an accredited university in any field.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to guide and inspire multidisciplinary teams.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with SAP S/4 HANA Embedded BW and integrated planning.
  • Proficient in native HANA development, with strong skills in AMDP coding (ABAP-managed database procedures) and Analysis for Office.
  • Experience with SAP Business Workflow, Fiori, and Lumira to improve user experience and data visualization.
  • Understanding of financial concepts related to the income statement, with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a particular focus on identifying and solving complex problems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and ongoing support of SAP S/4 HANA Embedded BW and integrated planning solutions, ensuring alignment with business requirements and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain native HANA artifacts, including AMDP code (ABAP-managed database procedures), to improve data processing and reporting capabilities.
  • Use Analysis for Office to create effective reporting solutions that meet user needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design, implement, and optimize SAP workflow processes, ensuring they are effective and aligned with business goals.
  • Use SAP Fiori and Lumira to improve user experience and data visualization.
  • Apply knowledge of financial concepts related to the income statement to analyze data and provide insights to inform financial decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Develop and present financial reports and dashboards to management, highlighting KPIs and trends.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership by supervising multidisciplinary teams in the implementation of projects and by supporting junior collaborators.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment by effectively communicating project goals, timelines, and expectations to team members and stakeholders.
  • Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve challenges with SAP S/4HANA solutions, ensuring timely problem resolution.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses and make recommendations for process and system improvements.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, both orally and in writing, to ensure clarity and understanding of project objectives and deliverables.
  • Prepare documentation and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences, facilitating knowledge transfer and dissemination of project progress updates.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and SAP technology advancements, constantly seek professional development opportunities, and contribute to the success of the business.
  • Participate in trainings and development initiatives to strengthen technical expertise and leadership skills.
