The Senior SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for the development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of SAP operating environments within complex enterprise landscapes. This role involves establishing and enforcing system operation standards to ensure compatibility between hardware, operating systems, middleware, and SAP application components. The administrator will support full lifecycle system maintenance, including upgrades, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and operational support for SAP S/4HANA environments. Key duties include leading resolution efforts for software, operating system, and networking issues; overseeing system backups and recovery; and providing daily technical support for mission-critical applications. The senior administrator may also contribute to planning and forecasting activities and will be responsible for mentoring junior team members.
Requirements
- 5+ years of SAP Basis administration experience
- Hands‑on experience performing S/4HANA release upgrades (e.g., S/4 2021 → S/4 2025)
- US Citizens only (no dual citizenship)
- Eligible to obtain a minimum of a Secret Clearance
- Must reside locally in St. Louis, MO or be willing to travel to St. Louis weekly
Responsibilities
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of software, operating system, and network‑related issues in SAP environments
- Schedule, perform, and monitor system backups, ensuring reliable data recovery processes
- Provide daily operational support for all SAP-related applications
- Participate in work planning, including budgeting, staffing, and forecasting activities
- Manage and mentor a team of junior Basis administrators and technical staff
- Ensure alignment with SAP best practices, security standards, and federal compliance requirements
