About The Position

This position requires staying alert and reacting immediately to changing situations. It involves tasks such as changing batteries, handling chemicals, lifting over 50lbs, lockout/tag out procedures, and confined space work. The role also requires forklift skills and encompasses a broad range of duties including observing and complying with GMPs, receiving ingredients and materials, operating a corrugated baler, alerting QA to issues with ingredients, loading outbound trailers, maintaining office and break areas, following SSOPs, understanding storage practices, and performing additional jobs as assigned by management. The Sanitor is responsible for sanitizing large industrial equipment, cleaning offices, breakrooms, and bathrooms, working at heights and on ladders, preventing contamination, confirming invoices and bills-of-lading, disposing of trash and waste, monitoring pests, and abiding by all safety rules and regulations. They must also recognize and initiate corrective actions for cleaning, pest control, and maintenance problems to enhance product quality, food safety, and bakery efficiency.

Requirements

  • Ability to speak basic English is required
  • Must be able to work at heights and on ladders

Responsibilities

  • Alerting the QA department of any damaged or open ingredient bags or boxes and to any ingredients that have lot numbers or codes that are not legible
  • Loading skids and pallets on outbound trailers
  • Maintaining all office, break area and restroom areas
  • Following and completing SSOP’s from the master sanitation schedule
  • Understanding and following storage practice procedures
  • Performing additional jobs as assigned by management
  • Understanding the proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals
  • Sanitizing large industrial equipment
  • Cleaning offices, breakrooms, and bathrooms
  • Working at heights and on ladders
  • Preventing potential for contamination issues and correcting any incidence of product contamination
  • Confirming Invoices and Bill-of-Ladings daily
  • Daily disposal of all trash and waste product
  • Daily monitoring and disposal of pests and rodents
  • Abiding by all safety rules and regulations
  • Recognizing cleaning, pest control and maintenance problems and initiating corrective actions when deficiencies are found
  • Performing any requested job which will enhance product quality, food safety and bakery efficiency
