About The Position

Klondike Cheese Company is looking for multiple individuals to join our Sanitation team. The sanitation worker is required to work in an environment that is wet, humid and warm. The temperature in this location is cooler, around 50 degrees. This role involves cleaning and sanitizing equipment, machinery, and work areas in the facility to ensure the highest food safety standards are met. Employees are required to stand the duration of the shift, with frequent and repetitive bending, stooping, turning, reaching, grasping and lifting up to 50 pounds.

  • Must adhere to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and HACCP pre-requisite programs, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP) guidelines or Federal regulations.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Cheese/food industry experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and sanitizing equipment, machinery, and work areas in the facility.
  • Using brushes, hoses, and chemical cleaning agents.
  • Utilizing detergents, sanitizers, brushes and high-pressure hose to clean production equipment and rooms in assigned area.
  • Measuring, weighing, or mixing cleaning solutions, using measuring tanks, calibrated rods or suction tubes.
  • Observing machine operations, gauges, or thermometers, and adjusting controls to maintain specified conditions.
  • Setting controls to regulate temperature and length of cycles, and starting conveyors, pumps, agitators, and machines.
  • Draining, cleaning, and refilling machines or tanks at designated intervals, using cleaning solutions or water.
  • Performing varying tasks while standing, lifting, and crouching during long periods of time.
  • Communicating and working effectively with other Sanitation personnel and Supervisor.
  • Adhering to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and HACCP pre-requisite programs, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP) guidelines or Federal regulations.
  • Frequently lifting/moving hoses and related equipment throughout every work shift.
  • Exposure to and use of chemical cleaning solutions (with protective gear).
  • Assisting in the operation of production lines as needed, including operating or tending machines.
  • Performing other related additional duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager, which may include assisting with packaging duties.
