About The Position

Ensure the health and safety of our customer product by maintaining a clean facility. This role involves performing a wide variety of job tasks and transitioning between them effectively. Employees are expected to maintain a positive attitude, live by company values, and inspire others. A willingness to learn new techniques as job requirements change is essential. Employees should seek out additional work when tasks are completed and go above and beyond required duties. Participation in pre-shift and department meetings is expected. Pride in the work area should be displayed by maintaining daily housekeeping of the operations building, equipment, break rooms, restrooms, and smoke areas. Promoting teamwork and assisting in all areas and processes of the operation as needed is also a key expectation. High standards of work quality must be maintained despite pressing deadlines, producing accurate, thorough, and professional work. Following all written and verbal instructions provided by management is crucial. Communication should be professional and factual, ensuring the best decisions are made for the company. All issues should be reported to the manager/supervisor. An appropriate appearance and adherence to dress code guidelines are required.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift license.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to twist, squat, and reach above shoulder level.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment.
  • Follows all rules, guidelines, and practices.
  • Informs supervisor/manager immediately if unsafe conduct or conditions arise.

Responsibilities

  • Vacuum and clean bug lights as needed using hot soapy water and replace bulbs.
  • Empty trash daily in all areas of the building.
  • Inspect refrigerators for spillage and clean them with hot soapy water.
  • Remove spider webs using designated equipment around forklift areas, racking, guide rail, and building perimeter.
  • Vacuum carpet areas.
  • Sweep and pick up wood chips, strapping, shrink wrap, etc., off the warehouse floor.
  • Vacuum cracks in the dock plates.
  • Clean exit door perimeters.
  • Empty trash, sweep and mop, and clean tables, chairs, and counters in the employee lunchroom/breakroom.
  • Dust dock doors and clean dock lights.
  • Maintain clean windows and mirrors.
  • Follow established Dock Safety practices.
  • Prepare cleaning supplies for use per manufacturer recommendations.
  • Report all equipment malfunctions to the manager and/or maintenance immediately.
  • Follow safety and security policies and SOPs.
  • Inspect the perimeter of the building for evidence of rodents, bird infestation, and cleanliness, as well as the security of the building including wall panels.
  • Report any captures to the Distribution Manager.
  • Assist in other areas and on clean up day when requested.
