About The Position

The Sanitation employee keeps working areas in production departments of an industrial establishment clean and orderly. The role uses chemicals and equipment to clean and sanitize multiple areas and production equipment. The position is hourly and non-exempt, reports to the Department Supervisor, and is scheduled for third shift: 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM Monday through Thursday and 9:00 PM to 5:30 AM Sunday. Overtime is required based on production needs.

Requirements

• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English and read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to input data into a computer.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds 100–200 times during the shift.
• Ability to stand and/or walk for the duration of the shift.
• Ability to use hands to finger, grip, handle, or feel and to reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to talk and hear.
• Occasionally able to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations as applicable.
• Demonstrates written communication, organizational support, quantity, safety and security, adaptability, attendance and punctuality, dependability, and initiative competencies.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize drains and floors.
• Use chemicals and equipment to sanitize and clean multiple areas.
• Disassemble, sanitize, and clean pipes, pumps, and other production equipment.
• Transport trash and waste to the disposal area.
• In certain areas, sort and place leftover pallets in the designated area at the end of the shift.
