About The Position

Headquartered in Cambridge, Ontario, the company has expanded with manufacturing plants across North America and employs over 1400 individuals. The company is currently recruiting for full-time, unionized Sanitation positions on the night shift, with a varying schedule. The starting wage is $19.14 per hour with a progression rate. The role involves daily cleaning and sanitizing of the facility, as well as completing non-daily cleaning tasks as directed by the Sanitation Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Experience with moving and dismantling equipment to ensure proper cleaning and sanitation
  • Lockout- tag out knowledge
  • Exposure to/working with chemicals (detergents bleach, etc.)
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others
  • Physically fit

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in an industrial GMP plant or janitorial industry is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high level of sanitation in all areas of the facility.
  • Complete all daily sanitation tasks, as per the Sanitation Checklist.
  • Complete additional non-daily cleaning tasks, as per the required frequency
  • Ensures that all manufacturing equipment are cleaned, sanitized and handled according to company standards
  • Assists in the cleaning of production lines and ensures that lines are properly cleaned within the acceptable time frame
  • Work in a self-paced environment.
  • Be detail oriented to ensure cleaning/sanitation functions are executed according to the SSOPs (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures).
  • Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
  • Work with cleaning chemicals and a variety of cleaning tools such as brushes, cloths, buckets, mops, walk-behind floor scrubber and equipment foamer/sanitizer.
  • Take direction from the Sanitation Team Lead or Supervisor for training and task assignments.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
