About The Position

The Sanitation Worker is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas within the facility. This includes proper organization of equipment and cleaning supplies, effective use of cleaning equipment and sanitation procedures, removal of waste, and maintaining the cleanliness of floors, drains, and common areas. The role also involves chemical handling, safety procedures, and teamwork to achieve departmental goals.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Organizational skills.
Clear communication skills.
Time management skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to bend, squat, kneel, and crouch.
Ability to lift up to 80lbs.
High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with MSDS / GHS.
Knowledge of proper safety procedures in case of chemical mishap.

Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas.
Properly organize equipment and cleaning supplies.
Utilize clean up equipment and follow proper sanitation procedures.
Remove trash, recyclables, and cardboard.
Ensure cleanliness of floors and drains.
Maintain cleanliness, neatness, and organization of the Chemical room.
Ensure proper labeling of chemicals.
Adhere to proper chemical usage in accordance with manufacturer, USDA, and OSHA guidelines.
Follow proper safety procedures in case of chemical mishaps.
Clean and sanitize locker rooms, hallways, break rooms, and bathrooms, including floor care (stripping, waxing, buffing), cleaning toilets and urinals, emptying trash, carpet cleaning, and restocking supplies.
Work as a team to effectively and efficiently accomplish goals.
Report incidents of broken or damaged equipment.
Report missing equipment.
Be responsible for equipment that is missing during sanitation.
Verify proper cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas.
