About The Position

As a Sanitation Worker, you will play a key role in cleaning production equipment, machines, and work areas. Responsibilities will include handling and preparing cleaning chemicals, preparing sanitizers, preparing chemical concentrations, handling, and storing the chemicals, and managing chemical accidents, dry clean-up and disposing of waste.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent schooling.
Good paperwork/ documentation skills.
Ability to read, write and comprehend documents relating to the job.
Effectively communicate with individuals of all levels, both internally and externally.
Ability to work effectively, courteously, and respectfully with other employees.
Physically capable of performing all required duties including heavy lifting.
Work in an environment that is wet, humid, and undergoes extreme temperature changes.
Lift/ move water and chemical hoses, equipment, and chemical containers weighing between 20-80 lbs. throughout shift.

Nice To Haves

The position will require a scissor lift certification.
High Lift certification will be required
Ability to use power equipment as required including backpack vacuums, floor scrubbers and steam cleaner
Wearing all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required for chemical use
Will require extended periods on lifts and ladders.
Will be required to work in construction zones at times.

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize the plant equipment to meet quality and bacterial standards imposed by plant standards.
Sanitize and inspect equipment effectively and efficiently.
Some after-construction detail cleaning will also be required.
Work around large processing equipment where chemicals are used to complete the sanitation process.
Must be able to work as a team along with other members of the crew, under stressful conditions, and be flexible and willing to perform varying tasks per the supervisor's instructions and in accordance with all the safety guidelines mandated.
Assist in transporting heavy equipment with forklifts or other devices.
Wear employer-specified personal protective equipment.
Perform varying tasks while standing, lifting, crouching, etc. during extended periods of time.
Perform all tasks safely and in a manner that will not create or pose any danger to self or others.
