About The Position

The Sanitation Worker cleans production areas, company facilities, production equipment, supplies, and machinery. This role is responsible for following safety precautions, cleaning and sanitizing various surfaces and equipment, and completing documentation accurately. The position requires the ability to operate various cleaning equipment, work with chemicals and PPE, and understand food safety standards. Flexibility in scheduling may be required due to production demands.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; Or three to six months related experience; Or equivalent
  • Demonstrate intellectual and interpersonal skills through leadership, organization, and self-efficacy
  • Ability to read and write comprehensive reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals and effectively present them to groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Basic mathematical skills and understanding of algebra and geometry
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Software, Inventory Software, and Microsoft Office including Excel and Outlook
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to be on your feet for entirety of 8-hour shift
  • Ability to climb ladders and maneuver through equipment

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety precautions to use chemical and electrical equipment
  • Clean and sanitize floors, walls, windows, ceiling, equipment, supplies, and production parts
  • Properly, accurately, and timely complete all sanitation documentation
  • Able to read and understand safety data sheets (SDS) written in English
  • Incorporate special or rotational cleaning duties into their daily schedules
  • Operate gas, air, and electrical equipment, such as floor scrubbers, power washers, foamers, foggers, etc.
  • Work with basic hand and electrical tools
  • Adapt to scheduled cleaning events due to production demands
  • Work with a variety of chemicals and personal protective gear (PPE)
  • Clean specific pieces of equipment and run CIP for pasteurization equipment
  • Empty wastebaskets and transport them to disposal area
  • Understand and accept to carry out production quality, food safety and chemical awareness
  • Keep working equipment and tools clean and organized; Manage Cleaning Log daily
  • Report to workstation on time; Wear proper work attire; Assist in setting up work area
  • Perform duties according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Sanitization Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) that meet quality and safety standards pertaining to: Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Wisconsin Department of Agriculture (WDA), and customer requirements
  • Conduct behavior in compliance with Lifeway Employee Policy
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
