This position will report to the Sanitation Supervisor and is located in Torrance, CA. It is a full-time, non-exempt, regular employment category with no travel requirements. The pay range is $20.00 - $23.00 per hour. Requirements

High School/GED or one to two years’ experience in related field or combination of both education and experience.

Nice To Haves

May be required to become certified in forklift, scissor lift, boom lift, or electric pallet jack certification.

Responsibilities

Ensuring that all production equipment is properly cleaned and that the facility meets all Food Regulatory Standards.
Detail cleaning of processing equipment including production utensils, tanks, conveyors, overhead pipes, cooling units, walls, floors, drains, ceiling, etc.
Maintaining outside waste area and perimeter.
Using the 7 steps to effectively wet wash during cleaning to maintain Food Safety and Pest Control.
Complying with all company and quality policies and chemical and safety procedures.
Assembling and disassembling processing equipment.
Working in a timely manner to return production areas and equipment back to production.
Transporting trash and other waste for disposal.
Communicating problems or concerns with appropriate personnel.
Wearing all proper protective equipment during sanitation cleaning process.
Learning equipment systems or using HMI screens to stop, start, and purge equipment.
Safely using sanitation chemicals (soaps, sanitizers, acids) and understanding Safety Data Sheets (SDS), GMPs, food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and standard cleaning methods.
Knowledge of sanitation equipment and tools, including but not limited to, Lockout/Tagout procedures and safe practices when working around moving machinery.
Willingness to learn, follow safety protocols and adapt to change in a team-based environment.
Strong oral and written communication, organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions and follow instructions.
Reliable attendance and schedule flexibility, including potential shift changes, weekends, and overtime as needed.
