About The Position

Utility 1 workers perform several bakery manufacturing activities and must be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, communicate and work effectively as part of a team, remain flexible in assignments within the utility category, follow written and verbal instructions, complete duties safely and accurately, maintain GMP standards, and participate as part of the Food Defense Team. The Sanitor is responsible for product safety and cleaning areas and equipment throughout the plant, including windows, ceilings, restrooms, break rooms, wash racks, cleaning equipment, lights, mixers, ovens, and pans. The role may also involve cleaning processing and non-processing equipment and maintaining the grounds. This is a full-time third-shift PM position in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively in a team and remain flexible in assignments.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and safely and accurately complete assigned duties.
• Ability to maintain GMP standards and participate as part of the Food Defense Team.
• Must be in good physical condition and not afraid of heights.
• Ability to meet the stated physical requirements, including standing, walking, kneeling or squatting, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, crawling, repetitive motion, and pushing and pulling carts and equipment.
• Ability to read, use peripheral vision, hear, understand scheduling, and visually inspect cake against stated quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, lights, walls, windows, ceilings, restrooms, break rooms, wash racks, and equipment such as mixers, ovens, and hand trucks in various plant areas.
• Spot-clean various areas within the plant.
• Communicate with production staff about problems and cleaning frequency.
• Clean processing and non-processing equipment and maintain grounds, including snow removal, weed control, tree trimming, and policing grounds.
• Dismantle machinery.
• Discard waste and trash.
• Resolve insect problems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
