About The Position

This role supports the needs of production by performing cleaning and related activities necessary to maintain the facility and equipment in the required sanitary conditions. This role is critical in maintaining sanitary conditions throughout the facility necessary for regulatory compliance and GFSI (SQF) certification. Maintenance of such conditions accomplished primarily through adherence to the Master Sanitation Schedule, addressing "at risk" sanitation issues immediately, and communicating issues where there is no immediate solution.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals (SOPs/SSOPs/OPLs).
  • Ability to communicate effectively through both verbal and written methods.
  • Ability to speak effectively with groups of employees throughout the organization.
  • High School Diploma/High School equivalent.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, rates and ratios.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office programs

Responsibilities

  • Primary facility sanitarian leading efforts to maintain plant and equipment sanitary conditions.
  • "Model the Way" as a Sanitation Team member displaying compliance not only to guidelines such as sanitation and safety but also in how we interact with each other on a professional basis. Must possess a continuous learning attitude, being a technical resource, the team can count on when they have questions regarding cleaning requirements.
  • Ownership of MSS (Master Sanitation Schedule) and conditions on respective shifts around facility sanitation. Examples of MSS tasks: Cleaning floors / drains, Cleaning building structures (walls, overhead structures), Cleaning equipment (both food contact and non-food contact equipment), Empty and clean trash receptacles, Re-supply cleaning, restroom, and GMP related items (hair restraints), Order cleaning supplies and equipment as needed
  • Lead training of new sanitarians and support production where training is required for proper cleaning.
  • Must be a lifelong learner willing to learn and grow with the organization in both technical and non-technical areas.
  • Complete appropriate tasks and recordkeeping supporting SQF requirements.
  • Aid in the investigation and/or decision-making process to resolve any quality or food safety issues that occur.
  • Support Lean/Continuous Improvement efforts within the organization.
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations for self and others.
  • Aid in review, updates, and development of SSOPs (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures) as required.
  • Able to work in a team environment but also work independently with limited supervision.
  • Compliance to company attendance policy.
  • Meets expectations of established performance standards.
