About The Position

Daily's Premium Meats is seeking a Sanitation Technician for nightly plant sanitation. This role involves cleaning and sanitizing packaging equipment and surfaces, requiring physical stamina for working on concrete floors and lifting up to 50 pounds. The position demands meticulous attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should be comfortable in a cold/wet environment and capable of performing manual labor. The typical shift hours are 10:30 pm to 6 am, with potential for variation based on business needs. Sunshine pay is available.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos preferred.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence preferred.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers and management.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations preferred.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form preferred.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 75 pounds and sometimes push/and or move up to 300 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize processing equipment, production areas, and surfaces according to company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform daily duties such as mopping, scrubbing, and drying equipment and facilities, navigating around machine belts, chains, conveyors, and other systems as needed.
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment for thorough cleaning, ensuring proper sanitation.
  • Handle cleaning chemicals and sanitizing agents safely and apply them effectively.
  • Inspect equipment for wear, damage, and functionality, reporting issues for timely repair.
  • Manage waste disposal following company policies and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain accurate sanitation records and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Responsible for nightly sanitation of the entire plant, with primary focus being the cleaning and sanitizing of all machines, equipment, and surfaces.
  • Must be physically capable of standing/walking 100% of the shift on concrete flooring.
  • Must be able to bend/lift up to 25 lbs. with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in a cold/wet environment at an average temperature of 42 degrees and perform hard, manual labor for an eight-hour shift.
  • Complete all required Safety, Chemical, and Lock Out Tag Out training certifications.
