About The Position

Fresh Express is seeking an experienced Sanitation Technician to join their team. This role is responsible for ensuring the plant is cleaned to meet regulatory and company standards. This includes the sanitation of various equipment such as conveyor belts, dryer barrels, water shakers, and other metal equipment. The technician will operate foamers and pressure washers, sweep floors, shovel and remove garbage, and hand-scrub equipment and walls as needed. They will also clean and sanitize drains and traps, ensuring minimal standing water. The process involves air blowing excess product, pre-rinsing, foaming, and then post-rinsing and sanitizing equipment. The employee must follow all written sanitation procedures and adopt a proactive approach to problem-solving related to cleaning and sanitizing.

Requirements

Mechanically Inclined as the Sanitation Tech will disassemble and reassemble heavy equipment
Physically capable as it requires lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, bending, stooping, and kneeling
Able to lift 50 lbs. throughout the shift
Identify and properly use (when required) hazardous chemical and material in house as trained
Must have the ability to make decisions and think independently
Experience working within a Food Processing, or Food Manufacturing Cold environment
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English

Responsibilities

Assure that the plant is appropriately cleaned to satisfy regulatory and company requirements (overall sanitation of the plant)
Clean conveyor belts, dryer barrels, water shaker, and other metal equipment
Operate foamier and pressure washer
Sweep floors
Shovel garbage into garbage cans and remove garbage
Hand-scrub equipment and walls as required
Clean drains and traps
Sanitize drains according to cleaning schedule
Assure that standing water is minimized
Air blow excess product
Pre-rinse equipment
Foam equipment
Post rinse & sanitize equipment
Follow all written sanitation procedures
Develop a proactive approach to solving problems related to cleaning and sanitizing
Maintain sanitary equipment and supplies in a neat and orderly manner in chemical cage
Use chemical and hazardous materials with caution and always follow instructions before and during use
Properly hang all hoses after usage
