About The Position

Joseph's Bakery is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Sanitation Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout our production facility by cleaning and sanitizing equipment, production areas, and food contact surfaces while following all food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment that plays a critical part in ensuring the safety and quality of our products.

Requirements

• Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and follow safety procedures
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to disassemble and reassemble equipment for cleaning
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and quality standards
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Reliable attendance and punctuality required
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship

Nice To Haves

• Previous sanitation, janitorial, manufacturing, food production, or industrial cleaning experience preferred, but not required
• Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, Food Safety, and sanitation practices preferred
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize production equipment, machinery, conveyors, and food contact surfaces using approved cleaning chemicals and procedures
• Clean floors, walls, ceilings, drains, production areas, break rooms, and restrooms
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment as needed for deep cleaning
• Safely handle and apply sanitation chemicals in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and company procedures
• Follow all sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), GMPs, HACCP requirements, and Food Safety programs
• Monitor sanitation effectiveness through inspections, swab testing, or other verification methods
• Properly collect, sort, and dispose of waste materials
• Inspect cleaning equipment and report maintenance concerns when identified
• Complete required sanitation records and documentation accurately
• Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Management teams to support operational goals
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times
• Perform additional duties as assigned
