About The Position

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for daily cleaning and sanitation of food processing and storage areas, to prepare for routine operations at Murray’s Cheese’s production and distribution facility. Tasks are in accordance with our Food Safety Plan, Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures, Master Sanitation Schedule, Pest Control program, Good Manufacturing Practices, safety and compliance programs, and chemical application, use, and control procedures. Please note: This position is an overnight role, operating between approximately 6PM to 2AM.

Requirements

1+years of sanitation experience in food production, with a working understanding of wet and dry cleaning procedures
Great attention to detail
Ability to work independently
Ability to complete documentation in English
Ability to work in refrigerated environments
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work on weekends if required
Ability to operate a pallet jack or forklift
Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs safely
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and use hands/ arms continuously
Ability to adhere and apply log out tag out (LOTO) when necessary

Responsibilities

Clean & sanitize: You ensure the cleanliness of all surfaces and utensils used in Production’s clean space, following daily operations and maintenance activities as needed. You clean and sanitize the warehouse floors and equipment on a weekly basis. You work with caustic chemicals that often require dilution. You implement organic material testing (ATP swabbing) to determine cleanliness of the processing area and equipment.
Document: You are responsible for maintaining cleaning logs, subject to Quality Assurance program compliance.
Communication: You work amicably with and motivate colleagues to work within the company’s food safety and quality parameters. You inform QA leadership when there are any safety concerns.
