About The Position

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the Wash Down Rooms, ensuring equipment and electrical areas are properly covered and cleaned. This role requires knowledge of food safety, proper chemical usage, and documentation of sanitation activities according to the Master Sanitation Schedule. The technician will also be responsible for general custodial duties and ensuring all sanitation materials are properly stored or disposed of. Reporting to work on time, with potential for overtime and weekend work, is essential. The role also involves covering for absent colleagues and performing regular sanitation duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to accurately log and record sanitation activities.
  • Janitorial and sanitation knowledge.
  • Standing on a concrete floor.
  • Wearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform).
  • Bending, stooping, twisting, turning, standing for extended time periods, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Required to work weekends during peak season.
  • Required to work mandatory overtime when needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of chemical safety.
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and E-mail).

Responsibilities

  • Providing clear direction in the Wash Down Rooms.
  • Identifying equipment and electrical needs to be covered.
  • Using and providing the proper color-coded tools to do the job.
  • Reporting food safety and quality problems to authorized personnel.
  • Knowledge of equipment needing detailed cleaning, taken apart and cleaned (especially in food contact areas) to prevent mold and bacterial build up.
  • Applying correct chemical dilution ratios to clean.
  • Documenting Master Sanitation Schedule tasks and verifying completion.
  • Ensuring all sanitation materials/tools/chemicals are removed from areas, stored properly, or disposed of after completion.
  • Reporting to work on time.
  • Working overtime and weekends when necessary.
  • Covering for other Sanitation Techs in their absence.
  • Conducting regular sanitation duties and custodial tasks as assigned by the Sanitation Department Lead.
