About The Position

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, lines, walls, and machines within a designated area of the processing plant. This role requires familiarity with USDA requirements for start-up guidelines and company SSOP procedures. The technician must adhere to plant policies, maintain high standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness according to GMP policies, and follow specific procedures for packaging and labeling products. A key part of the role involves physically inspecting products for defects, both natural and processing-related, and identifying and reporting any suspicious or abnormal situations to supervisors.

Requirements

  • Must be familiar with USDA requirements for start-up guidelines.
  • Must know the company SSOP procedures.
  • Standing, walking, and bending 100% of the work night.
  • Occasional use of ladders in certain areas of production.
  • Nightly use of high-pressure water hoses and chemical solutions for the cleaning process.

Responsibilities

  • Rinse, foam, and sanitize equipment, lines, walls, and machines in a designated area of the processing plant.
  • Comply with written plant policies.
  • Maintain the highest possible level of personal hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with plant GMP policies.
  • Follow written specifications for packaging and labeling of products.
  • Physically inspect products for natural occurring and processing defects.
  • Identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations to their immediate supervisor or plant management official.
