About The Position

Sysco is seeking a Sanitation Technician I to perform necessary cleaning functions in the warehouse. This role involves accurately recording information, providing customer service, and assisting with inventory and purchases of janitorial supplies. The technician will also be responsible for adhering to Sysco's Food Safety Policy and procedures, working safely with minimal environmental impact, and reporting hazards and spills immediately. A strong commitment to personal and colleague safety is expected.

Requirements

Ability to work in cold environments.
Ability to work standing for long periods of time.
Ability to multitask in a fast-pace environment.

Nice To Haves

2 years general warehouse or related experience is an asset.
High school diploma preferred.
Exposure to operation of material handling equipment is an asset.

Responsibilities

Perform necessary cleaning functions in the warehouse.
Accurately record information on SYSCO and external documents.
Provide customer service both externally and internally.
Assist in inventory and purchases of janitorial supplies as requested.
Comply with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
Work safely with minimal environmental impact and understand the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.
Understand that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and are willing to speak out when hazards are present.
Perform other duties as assigned.
