About The Position

The Sanitation Team Member is an environmental microbiological risk management role that requires performing protocols in sanitation and plant hygiene at the site. The role will support the strategy, development, implementation, and sustainability of a cleaning and sanitation program to meet regulatory, global, and corporate requirements related to food safety, sanitation, and pest control.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, or sanitation, or GMP
  • Proficiency in software systems, including MS Office and e-mail
  • Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs).
  • Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces.
  • Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods, with shifts lasting 12 hours.
  • Capable of working with chemicals in hot, cold, dusty, and wet conditions.
  • Proficient at using a computer and capable of using a computer screen for shifts up to 8 hours.
  • Proficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree (Bachelors) or certification(s)
  • Previous experience in quality control or food-related industry
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Experience in Kleanz, Weever, Nexus

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Engineering, Site QFS, Operations, and contractors.
  • Support activities to verify GMP and cleaning effectiveness.
  • Help drive cleaning events/activities. This may occasionally require weekend or night shift hours.
  • Promote GMP, sanitation, and Q&FS compliance on-site and off-site as needed.
  • Create and verify SSOPs. This may occasionally require weekend or night shift hours.
  • Train operators and contractor personnel on Sanitation Procedures, proper chemical usage, and handling.
  • Develop and maintain electronic Master Cleaning Schedules, trackers, etc., utilizing designated programs such as Kleanz, Weever, Nexus, etc.
  • Any ad hoc requests as requested within scope.
