About The Position

The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for the leadership of sanitation team members, procedures, programs and regulatory requirements, ensuring all plant equipment is clean and safe for production. Empowers team members, through supervision, training and feedback opportunities, to meet and exceed expectations for productivity, quality assurance, waste management and food/personal safety. Ensures compliance of company policies and procedures, safety regulations, GMP’s, SOP’s, SSOP’s, HACCP and SQF. Coordinates and guides team on a variety of situations including startups, shutdowns, preoperational inspections, product changeovers, change management concerns and sanitation. Leads the performance appraisal and progressive, corrective action steps to promote positive and safe teamwork environments.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated three years supervisory or leadership skills in a USDA regulated facility leading a sanitation/production team OR a bachelor’s degree with a prior Food Science (or closely related) internship.
  • Working knowledge of sanitation chemicals usage and applications.
  • Working knowledge of USDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation processes/procedures and HACCP.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and spatial aptitude, including the ability to disassemble and reassemble equipment and the ability to formulate and understand complex mathematical equations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, to include professional oral and written communication.
  • A team-focused approach.
  • Ability to model composure and make decisions in stressful situations.
  • Must have the legal authorization to work for any employer in the United States.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • A post-secondary degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Meat/Poultry Science, Engineering or Manufacturing Operations or related field.
  • Prior experience with SAP or Infinity.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of general First Aid and CPR.
