About The Position

The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing, maintaining, and reporting on site Sanitation programs and employees. This role ensures that necessary sanitations (changeovers) are performed across all three shifts, appropriate staff and time are allotted, and training and documentation remain up-to-date. The supervisor will report ongoing activities and potential opportunities for improvement to upper management, focusing on food safety and process efficiencies. Flexibility, meeting assigned due dates, and a growth mindset are essential for this position.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic sanitation principles, allergen programs, and preventing foodborne illness.
  • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Bachelor of Science in food science or related field.
  • 2 or more years in a production/operations food manufacturing environment required.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • 1 year of previous sanitation experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Experience with Sanitation, HACCP, PCQI, and SQF are recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Train employees to work in a safe manner.
  • Oversee Sanitation Assistant Supervisors and Team Leads, providing guidance on daily expectations and sanitations (changeovers).
  • Work closely with Supply Chain, Production, Maintenance, and Quality to prepare sanitations and cleaning validations.
  • Create, update, and provide training and guidance to Production and Sanitation teams on how sanitation should be performed and documented.
  • Create and revise documents including, but not limited to, Line Clearance Sheets, SSOPs, Work Instructions, standard work, training videos, and production line guidance binders.
  • Monitor, trend, and improve ATP and allergen data.
  • Monitor and report on sanitation hours through staff data, Kaizen events, and time studies.
  • Schedule, plan, and audit planned maintenance of sanitation equipment such as parts washers, color-coded utensils, and more.
  • Audit, react, and improve the Tooling Inventory, 5-S, parts washer usage, manual cleaning, and other sanitation processes.
  • Enforce company rules, policies, and procedures including, but not limited to, safety, discipline, cooperation, and teamwork.
  • Be punctual, attentive, and active in business meetings.
  • Adhere to and train on CW’s Pathogen Procedures, including, but not limited to, Allergen Control and Facility Color Coding procedures.
  • Perform other duties and improvement projects as assigned by Management.
