The Sanitation Supervisor leads and develops a sanitation team to consistently execute sanitation programs that meet or exceed HACCP, SSOP, GMP, and health and safety requirements. The supervisor ensures that sanitation is performed correctly, thoroughly, and on schedule, with particular attention to high‑risk food contact equipment such as kettles, pots, cutting surfaces, utensils, food containers, and processing equipment used in the manufacture of children’s meals. This position requires a hands-on leader who understands that sanitation is critical to food safety—not simply a cleaning function. The Sanitation Supervisor is accountable for ensuring the facility is production-ready every day through effective pre-operational inspections, environmental monitoring, corrective actions, and verification activities. When sanitation gaps occur, this role is responsible for identifying root causes, implementing corrective and preventive actions, and ensuring issues do not recur. In addition to technical sanitation expertise, the Sanitation Supervisor must demonstrate strong people leadership. Success in this role depends on the ability to train, coach, motivate, and hold team members accountable to high standards while fostering a culture of ownership, attention to detail, and food safety awareness. The supervisor sets clear expectations, provides ongoing feedback, and ensures that all team members understand how their work directly impacts the safety of food production. The Sanitation Supervisor works cross-functionally with, Production, Maintenance, Procurement, and external service providers to ensure sanitation programs are effective, sustainable, and aligned with business needs. As a member of the HACCP team, this individual plays an active role in audits, continuous improvement initiatives, and facility upgrades that strengthen sanitation systems and reduce risk. The successful Sanitation Supervisor ensures the facility is consistently clean, sanitized, and production‑ready to support the safe manufacture of meals. They lead a trained and accountable sanitation team that meets GFSI, HACCP and GMP standards, delivers strong pre‑operational results, and supports successful audits. Through hands‑on leadership and proactive problem solving, they identify and address sanitation risks early, reinforcing a strong food safety culture every day.
