About The Position

The Sanitation Supervisor is part of a food processing (egg production) company. The purpose of this position is to clean and sanitize egg processing equipment and plant on a daily basis, following the processing shift. This is a hands-on position with responsibility for directing a team of sanitation technicians and a sanitation lead. This is a ten to twelve hour shift with rotating days, including alternating weekends and some holidays.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years of specific related experience
  • Knowledge of sanitation methods, chemical handling and use
  • Knowledge of process control systems and food safety principles
  • Ability to effectively lead, coach and mentor others
  • General mechanical aptitude
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic math skills

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with GMP’s, SQF and HACCP or equivalent practices is highly desirable
  • Previous food plant sanitation experience is highly desirable
  • Prior experience in a lead or supervisory position preferred
  • Ability to speak English and Spanish is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Supervise two teams of three sanitation technicians and a sanitation lead
  • Responsible for disassembling, cleaning, sanitizing and reassembling the processing equipment on a daily basis
  • Performs CIP on tankers, silos and product lines
  • Responsible for maintaining chemical levels for CIP system and monitor chemical titrations
  • Requires working with high pressure cleaning equipment, manual scrubbing, use of hose and simple mechanical tools
  • Post sanitation inspections of all equipment
  • Review with Plant Supervisors/Processing Manager and chemical supplier on the correct use of sanitation equipment for process equipment
  • Ensure master sanitation schedule is completed as required
  • Monitors performance of sanitation crew providing effective feedback and coaching when necessary
  • Ensures all company safety practices, policies and procedures are being followed by all employees
  • Must follow good manufacturing practices (GMP’s)
  • Follow SQF standards relating to cleaning equipment and facility
  • Complete all necessary documentation pertaining to sanitation
  • Effective communication with supervisors and manager, ensuring sanitation needs are being fulfilled
  • Monitor alarms and notify appropriate plant personnel
  • Additional duties as assigned
