The Sanitation Superintendent works with employees and management to ensure that work areas are properly sanitized. This role maintains all Sanitation departmental records (excluding attendance), interprets and enforces company policies, and evaluates department staffing and equipment efficiency. The Superintendent performs employee evaluations at 30, 60, and 90-day intervals, and assesses the effectiveness of cleaning abilities. This position ensures adherence to all USDA and HACCP regulations, assigns daily job tasks to Crew Leaders to meet production schedules, and analyzes/resolves work problems. The Superintendent investigates non-compliant test results, adjusts work procedures or personnel to meet standards, and schedules all Sanitation work shifts, including daily and weekend assignments. They are responsible for ensuring new employees receive Food Safety, HACCP, Chemical, and LOTO training, and for creating and rewriting Sanitation SOPs. Weekly chemical checks are performed, and retraining and discipline sessions are issued for HACCP corrective actions and USDA non-compliance. The Superintendent will randomly inspect equipment and cleaning procedures, provide oversight on job assignments, scheduling, and supervision, and is responsible for instructing, evaluating, disciplining, and ongoing training.
