About The Position

McKee Foods is seeking a Sanitation Specialist to join our Environmental Sanitation Department team. You will work in all areas, cleaning equipment with high-pressure systems and operating high pressure washing equipment. This role involves working in various environments, including hot/cold, wet/dry, and at heights. The specialist will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing line equipment as well as environmental cleaning on the manufacturing floor. This position requires the ability to work safely around moving equipment, handle various chemicals, and understand the production schedule. The role also includes completing weekly Master Sanitation System (MSS) tasks, special project tasks, and daily tailing tasks (collecting samples for testing). Flexibility with tasks and good communication skills are essential.

Requirements

Have or able to obtain Scissor Lift License
Basic computer skills
High initiative, self-motivation, and ability to work well with minimal supervision
Good overall work, attendance, and safety record
Demonstrated knowledge of and adherence to company food safety and product purity procedures
Strong customer service skills
Attention to detail
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple cleaning activities
Ability to work and communicate well with peers and management
Ability to lift 40 pounds
Willing to work flexible hours
Capability to handle physically demanding work in varying climates
Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
Must be able to work safely around moving equipment.
Must be willing to attend specialized training when required.
Must be willing and able to work with various chemicals.
Will mainly be working in the manufacturing floor.
Must be able and willing to learn and understand the production schedule, as well as good communication with mixers.
Must be able to complete Out of Spec swabs.
Must be able to read, understand and follow the Standard Operating Procedure.
Must be able to work independently or with others.
Must be willing to take on other tasks asked by Supervisor.

Nice To Haves

Previous Industrial cleaning experience
Food processing or food manufacturing experience
Familiarity with industrial/manufacturing cleaning processes and procedures
Basic knowledge of the function and operation of sanitation equipment
Training and/or experience in operating lift equipment
Related training; including blood borne pathogens, confined space, lock out systems, dust hazard, chemical management, etc.

Responsibilities

Cleaning areas assigned by the Master Sanitation System (MSS) or areas assigned by supervisor.
Clean and sanitize line equipment as well as environmental cleaning.
Work in various environments (Hot/cold, wet/dry, floor/heights).
Work safely around moving equipment.
Work with various chemicals.

Complete weekly MSS (Master Sanitation System).

Complete daily tailing tasks (collect samples and bring them to Technical Service Lab for testing).
Complete Out of Spec swabs.
Read, understand and follow the Standard Operating Procedure.
Work independently or with others.
Take on other tasks asked by Supervisor.
