Sanitation Team Members are responsible for keeping equipment sanitized in preparation for production. They will use the best techniques for cleaning certain machines around the plant floor. This role requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) training, company pre-requisite programs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), USDA Guidelines, and Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP’s). The position involves applying chemicals for cleaning, degreasing, and sanitizing, performing hot and cold water wash downs of equipment, floors, and walls, and cleaning various parts of the facility including smokehouses, breakrooms, and bathrooms. The role also includes gathering and transporting trash, squeegeeing floors, cleaning drains, and covering sensitive equipment. Team members must follow a daily sanitation schedule, achieve specified goals, and ensure all areas of the facility are cleaned regularly. Proper chemical usage and concentration are critical. Pre-inspections are conducted before Quality Assurance (FSQ) pre-operation inspections to minimize deficiencies. The role may also involve assisting with machine re-assembly and suggesting improvements for quality and efficiency. Safety is paramount, requiring adherence to OSHA and company safety standards, including LOTO and proper PPE usage. All incidents and deficiencies must be reported immediately. Equipment and chemicals must be handled according to government, SDS, and Company safety standards.
