About The Position

IFF is a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients and health & biosciences, delivering sustainable innovations that elevate everyday products. The role is based in St. Joseph, MO and is an on-site role. This position is part of the Food Ingredients business unit, which is expected to transition to CVC Capital Partners in the first half of 2027, pending regulatory approvals. Food Ingredients focuses on innovating improved nutritional profiles, better taste and texture, and greater cost efficiency for global food and beverage manufacturers. The Sanitation Operator will be part of a creative, solution-oriented team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Ability to perform physical cleaning tasks for extended periods of time.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow sanitation procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines.
  • Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous sanitation experience in manufacturing, food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or chemical environment.
  • Experience handling industrial cleaning chemicals and sanitation equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and basic computer systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily sanitation activities according to the Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Clean production areas, equipment, and facility surfaces following established procedures.
  • Assist with cleaning production equipment after manufacturing runs to support operational readiness.
  • Operate Clean-Out-of-Place (COP) systems to properly clean and sanitize equipment components.
  • Clean and sanitize drums using designated drum washing equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness of production areas, employee facilities, and office spaces.
  • Clean and maintain facility drains to help prevent microbial growth and ensure sanitation compliance.
  • Safely handle cleaning chemicals while following all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to workplace cleanliness, safety, and efficiency.
