About The Position

McCain Foods is now accepting applications for a Sanitation Laborer to work a 12-hour day shift at our Burley, ID facility. Under limited supervision, the Sanitation Laborer performs any of a variety of cleaning and sanitation work in all areas of the plant following established sanitation standards, procedures and practices. The sanitation laborer uses a variety of equipment such as high pressure hoses and cleaning chemicals during their shift. The sanitation laborer completes all assigned work on a daily basis while working in a safe manner following all safety rules, including LOTO, and JSA’s. This position supports Production and Quality Control.

Requirements

Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Must have ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Must have demonstrated computer skills and experience with the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking is required.

Responsibilities

Performs deep cleaning and sanitizing of equipment as listed in Sanitation SOP’s.
Cleans and sanitizes the production and packaging areas and other areas as assigned.
Flushes, scrubs and sanitizes ceilings, walls, floors, overhead pipes and other areas as assigned, cleans and wipes lights and electrical cords.
Cleans mats, carts and buckets used in the production area on a daily basis.
Measure and mixes appropriate chemical cleaning agents per specification.
Refills and distributes chemical cleaning agent containers as needed.
Understand and be familiar with the inventory control process and procedure within sanitation department.
Uses high pressure cleaning apparatuses and mixes and applies potentially hazardous chemical compounds and solutions.
