The Sanitation Associate is responsible for the cleanliness of the equipment and facility for all areas of the plant. All sanitation procedures and practices used are grounded in standards, regulations and laws addressing food safety and food quality, as well as environmental safety in accordance with Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and/or equivalent related experience.
  • Show attention to detail
  • Understand and show compliance with safety standards
  • Candidates must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Maintain good personal cleanliness, follow hygiene protocols, and be able to read and understand a SDS.

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures.
  • All cleaning activities are performed and documented based on the master sanitation schedule (MSS) using the appropriate Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
  • Ensures all the provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and supplies are used to complete cleaning activities.
  • Operate hot water hose, foaming and sanitizing stations and utilize the cleaning tools to follow the 7 steps of sanitation process for cleaning equipment in preparation for the next production activity.
  • Equipment included but not limited to, cook kettles, extraction tanks, hold tanks, TetraPak R2 machines, packaging equipment, diaphragm pumps, hoses, pipes, transfer buckets and parts
  • Inspect your work for cleanliness and hygiene, reporting any issues or deficiencies to your supervisor.
  • Maintains up-to-date training including chemical safety training and handling of cleaning chemicals in accordance with the chemical suppliers’ recommended applications.
  • Maintain general housekeeping of the facility and assist in pest control mitigation techniques.
