The Sanitation Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring the sanitary condition, cleanliness, and equipment readiness for the manufacture of mixes and ice cream products. This involves disassembling, cleaning, sanitizing, and reassembling equipment according to Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs). The role also includes monitoring Cleaning-In-Place (CIP) and Cleaning-Out-of-Place (COP) units, making necessary adjustments to chemical concentrations, heat, and flow rates, and cleaning the production environment and surrounding areas. Collaboration with machine operators to ensure proper cleaning and food safety conditions is essential. Adherence to the Sanitation Manual and sanitation procedures is required as part of the overall quality system. Cleaning verification through visual, chemical, and ATP swabbing is a key responsibility. Tasks encompass housekeeping, general sanitation, and product quality assessment throughout the sanitation process. Understanding chemical labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for safe chemical handling and first aid is necessary. Accurate record-keeping, maintaining the integrity of the quality system, and performing assigned preventive maintenance are also part of the role. The position requires supporting corporate and local management policies, keeping management informed of developments, and actively participating in business improvement initiatives to enhance results.
