Under the direction of the Sanitation Supervisor, the Sanitation Lead coordinates activities related to cleaning and monitoring the hygienic conditions of the manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring food safety, compliance, and overall plant cleanliness. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum one year of experience in a food manufacturing environment with an emphasis in sanitation
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally with production and maintenance teams
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to provide logical solutions
- Commitment to maintaining hygienic production standards and following sanitation protocols
Responsibilities
- Fully understand all chemical SOPs, including proper usage, dilution, safe handling, and exposure response
- Lead cleaning operations using foamers, pressure washers, and hose stations efficiently and safely
- Delegate and train sanitation technicians and plant personnel on maintaining clean and sanitary conditions (floors, railings, ledges, equipment, etc.)
- Operate lifts, stepladders, scaffolding, and other equipment safely
- Complete weekly sanitation and chemical inventory tracking and ordering
- Conduct environmental monitoring tasks (swabs, air plates, water testing)
- Maintain and complete master sanitation schedules after tasks are performed
- Identify and report unsafe equipment conditions or malfunctions immediately
- Perform additional duties as assigned
