About The Position

Under the direction of a Manager, lead the shift of team members within a department to successfully complete assigned duties and tasks. This position will provide training to new team members on department processes. This position is responsible for leading the sanitation crew in the day to day operations of a department.

Requirements

  • Must have been in their current position 90 days to transfer to another shift, line, or department; no time in seat requirement for demotions on the same shift
  • No more than 4 occurrence points
  • No more than two (2) written warnings in the last 12 months
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Must have knowledge of Sanitation chemicals and how and where to use them.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for rinsing equipment with high pressure hot water systems, applying cleaning chemicals to equipment walls, ceilings, floors and drains with a foamer, scrubbing equipment with cleaning chemicals by using a green pad, lifting parts to tear down / set up equipment or to properly store.
  • Must be willing and able to climb ladders / steps to clean overhead areas.
  • Must be able to clean the floor using the squeegee.
  • Directly responsible for mixing and preparing chemicals.
  • Assures sanitation quality by adhering to SSOP and USDA polices, which includes pre-op/or checking area before start up.
  • Responsible for the cleaning of various non-production areas such as bathrooms, breakrooms, smock room, mop room and garbage chute.
  • Keep grounds area outside of plant clean and free of trash and debris.
  • Supply bathroom and hand wash stations with needed materials daily.
  • Follows up on progress of assigned work throughout the shift.
  • Responsible for the training of new employees.
  • Provides feedback regarding progress and problems to Sanitation Manager as needed.
  • Organizing sanitation team members to conduct various jobs and duties.
  • Assists Manager with investigations for corrective action when work standards, safety policies or GMPs are violated.
  • Audits Sanitation team members for safety and following proper cleaning procedures.
  • Communicates with other departments on needs and planning.
  • Planning of job assignments for the shift.
  • Must have knowledge of Sanitation chemicals and how and where to use them.
  • Perform overtime and/or holiday duty as required by work schedule.
  • Must be willing and able to effectively communicate with other team members.
  • Must be willing and able to work in extreme temperatures as low as -30 degrees.
  • Must be willing and able to routinely lift up to 50 lbs.
