5602 Sanitation Laborer - 3rd shift
About The Position
Follows established procedures for cleaning, rinsing, foaming, steaming, and sanitizing equipment, containers, and the facility. Procedures are documented in the Sanitation Standards of Operations Procedure book, kept in the supervisor’s office. The laborer cleans assigned work areas across all areas, handles garbage disposal with a forklift, keeps drains and walkways clear, and maintains the dumpster area. The role also requires operating production equipment to facilitate cleaning, safely handling and mixing chemicals, and recording completed work on the Sanitation Schedule at the end of each workday. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. The work takes place both indoors and outdoors, with significant seasonal temperature variations and intermittent wetting during some tasks. Workers may contact sanitizing chemicals and must use protective equipment as required, including gloves, goggles, rubber boots, head and beard covers, and ear plugs.
Requirements
- Must be properly trained to handle chemicals.

- Forklift experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Clean assigned work areas in all areas, as directed by the sanitation crew chief or supervisor.
- Clean, rinse, foam, steam, and sanitize equipment, containers, and the facility according to established procedures.
- Dispose of garbage with a forklift and keep drains and walkways clear.
- Operate production equipment correctly to facilitate proper cleaning.
- Follow safety procedures for handling chemicals and equipment.
- Measure and mix chemicals according to established procedures.
- Record work performed on the Sanitation Schedule at the end of each workday.
- Maintain the dumpster area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Follow safety rules and company policies.
- Participate in training, employee meetings, committees, and project teams as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor or crew chief.
