About The Position

This role involves following established procedures for the cleaning, rinsing, foaming, steaming, and sanitizing of equipment, containers, and the facility. These procedures are documented in the Sanitation Standards of Operations Procedure book. The Sanitation Laborer is responsible for cleaning their assigned work area, which may include all areas of the facility, and ensuring garbage disposal, drain maintenance, and clear floorways. The position requires the ability to operate production equipment to facilitate proper cleaning and to handle chemicals and equipment safely. Responsibilities also include measuring and mixing chemicals, recording work performed, maintaining the dumpster area, and adhering to safety rules and company policies. Additional duties may involve participating in training, meetings, and other tasks as directed by a supervisor.

Requirements

Must be properly trained to handle chemicals.

Nice To Haves

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Responsible for cleaning work area as assigned by the sanitation crew chief or supervisor, and must be able to perform these duties in all areas.
Follows established procedures for the cleaning, rinsing, foaming, steaming and sanitizing of equipment, containers and the facility.
Includes disposal of garbage with forklift, maintaining drains and floor ways clear.
Must be able to operate production equipment correctly to facilitate proper cleaning.
Follows safety procedures to ensure the safe handling of chemicals and equipment.
Measures and mixes chemicals per established procedures.
Records work performed on Sanitation Schedule at end of each workday.
Maintains dumpster area in clean and orderly condition.
Follows safety rules and company policies.
Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, project teams, etc. as appropriate.
Receives written and verbal instructions on the above job tasks and performs other duties as directed by Supervisor or crew chief.
