About The Position

Provide residential and commercial waste collection for the town of Easton.

Requirements

• Must be able to perform heavy physical labor outdoors in all types of weather.
• Must have a valid Maryland Driver’s License.
• Must have a DOT Endorsement.

Nice To Haves

• Appropriate license for grapple truck.
• Appropriate license for rear load truck.
• Appropriate license for automated trucks.

Responsibilities

• Be on time and maintain attendance requirements.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Pick up trash cans, trash bags and other debris.
• Pick up garbage in Hughes Alley, dump trash cans in scheduled town parks, unlock gates at Springhill Cemetery and empty recycling bins.
• Step on to and off of trash truck.
• Move dumpsters into place for trash truck to dump.
• Pick up loose trash.
• Assist in maintaining, cleaning and greasing sanitation vehicle(s).
• Pick up bulk items.
• Fill in on grapple truck and drive grapple truck, if licensed appropriately.
• Fill in as back up driver for rear load truck, if licensed appropriately.
• Fill in as crew for rear loader when necessary.
• Fill in as back up driver for automated trucks, if licensed appropriately.
• Be responsible for the safety of truck and crew, when serving as driver.
• Bend, twist, squat, kneel, walk and stand for extended periods of time.
• Assist other crews and perform other duties as directed by appropriate supervisor.
• Be available during weather related emergencies.
