About The Position
The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA. We are looking for seasonal Sanitation-Clean Up to be responsible for keeping the production area clean and in an orderly condition at our Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA. This is a seasonal position supporting our fresh pack season, typically August – November.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, not required; or any equivalent combination of training, experience and education that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
- 1+ year of experience in a warehouse environment preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, walk and climb stairs, and the ability to reach and use hands/wrists/arms repetitively.
- Able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, e.g. bump cap, ear protection, hair net.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and work extended schedule, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically August to early November.
Responsibilities
- Keeps the work area clean of product spills and/or debris by using water hoses, pressure hoses, shovels or small bins to wash or carry away product or debris.
- Pulls or moves water hoses across floors and may lift and remove bins of product/debris up to 35 lbs.
- May use diluted chemicals from a sprayer or pressure hose to clean equipment; but generally, uses water only from a pressure hose or general hose.
- Works with chemicals if working weekend shifts to sanitize lines.
- Promote Food Safety Culture as a priority at all times in all situations.
